Modification and modernization
For this project, the winch may not pull more than 70 tons. This is to prevent damage to the cable.
An important part of the modifications was the adding of a constant tension function. This function ensures that the pulling force can be constant.
By also adding a registration system, the customer can see exactly by means of log files with what force was pulled on the cable at any time.
With this technical upgrade, the 50-year-old winch can continue to run for years to come.
